Courses offered

AIIMS offers MBBS, BSc. Nursing (Hons.), BSc Nursing Post Basic as undergraduate courses. It offers MD/MS, MCH, DM, MD hospital administration, MDS, MSc Nursing, MSc Courses as postgraduate courses. The institute also offers DM and MCH as super speciality courses. Apart from this, the AIIMS medical college also offers PhD courses.

MBBS Admission procedure for AIIMS

The admission to AIIMS MBBS program is on merit basis through AIIMS MBBS Medical entrance exam conducted every year. The examination guidelines are laid down by AIIMS, New Delhi. AIIMS entrance exam stands valid for entrance to all 15 AIIMS across India.

The MBBS entrance exam 2019 duration is of 3 hours – 30 minutes. The entrance examination is conducted in 155 cities across India for the ease and convenience of students. The pattern of questioning is objective type – multiple choice questions.

Eligibility criteria for MBBS entrance

To be eligible for MBBS admission in AIIMS, the candidate must have secured a minimum of 45% aggregate in Physics, Chemistry and Biology in Class 12th. The applicant is required to attain the age of 17 years as on December 31st 2019.

Admission process for AIIMS PG, 2019

All India Mains Entrance Exam 2019 entrance exam is conducted twice in a year in the months of November and May. This year the next PG entrance is due on 5th May 2019. The entrance exam contains 200 Multiple Choice questions that are based MBBS syllabus, and for BDS, 90 Multiple choice questions are asked. The exam duration is about three hours for MD/MS exams while it is of one and half hours duration for MDS exams.

The result of this entrance exam is declared on May 10th, 2019. Only those candidates who have qualified the exam are invited for counselling for seat allotment. AIIMS PG is a common entrance exam for all AIIMS institutes across India. It provides admission eligibility for PG courses of Master of Surgery (MS), Doctor of Medicine (MD), Master of Dental Surgery (MDS) and MCh courses. The medical college offers 14 MDS seats and 501 seats in total for MD/MCh/MS/DM courses.

Eligibility Criteria for AIIMS PG courses

The applicants are required to fulfil the following to get eligibility to PG courses at AIIMS:

• The candidate must have passed out MBBS/BDS from an institute recognized by Medical Council of India/Dental Council of India.

• The aspirant is required to finish his rotating internship of 12 months or before 30th June 2019.

• Students belonging to General Category must have secured a minimum of 55% marks as an aggregate in MBBS, and those belonging to SC/ST category must have secured 50% marks as a norm.
