Under-Graduate Course

The undergraduate programme offered at NLSIU Bangalore is BA LLB programme. This law course is a five year integrated course. Admission to BA LLB course is purely on the basis of merit as assessed through a Common Law Admission Test – CLAT conducted. Each academic year is divided into three “Trimesters” with an average of not less than 70 working days for each. The academic terms will be announced in advance each year and will ordinarily be between July-September, October-January and March-June. The classes for BA LLB start on 1st July every year.

A candidate for admission to BA LLB (Honors) Law Course shall have:

  • passed 10+2 or an examination equivalent examination with not less than 50% (45% in the case of SC / ST candidates and persons with disability) in the aggregate
  • Must not have completed 20 years of age (22 years of age in the case of SC/ST and PWD candidates) as on 1st July of the year of BA LLB admission.

National Law School of India University Bangalore Placement

NLSIU placements training centre aims to teach law students professional skills and provides opportunities for developing useful professional contacts and for relating theoretical knowledge obtained in the library and the classrooms to social realities.

On or before 15th August each year, the law students are to make an application for NLSIU Placements during January-March the next year and submit the same to the Placement Officer.  The placement officer will correspond with Judges, Advocates, Law Officers, companies and other establishments of law to get their willingness to accept the candidates on placement. On receipt of their willingness, the candidates will be informed to prepare for undertaking the assignment. The placement is optional and will be with NGOs during the starting two years of the Law Course. The third year placements will be with trial lawyers and fourth with appellate lawyers. The final NLSIU placements will be with law firms and others.
