NEET PG Medical 2017NEET PG 2017 is an eligibility-cum-ranking PG entrance exam prescribed as the single window entrance examination to various MD/MS courses and PG Diploma Courses as per the Indian Medical Council Act 1956.

NEET PG 2017 entrance exam, a computer based test for admission to postgraduate medical courses / diploma courses, shall be conducted by National Board examinations (NBE), an autonomous organization established by Government of India in 1982 with prime objective of conducting PG entrance examinations on All India Basis.

NEET PG 2017 is a mandatory test for gaining MD MS admission 2017 or PG Diploma admission 2017 in medical colleges in India. Eligible candidates who want to pursue a postgraduate course in medical or diploma under merit in medical colleges in India must apply for National Eligibility Entrance Test PG Medical 2017 on or before 31st Oct 2016.

  1. Other than NEET PG medical entrance exam, no entrance exam conducted by state government /private medical college/universities including the states of Jammu & Kashmir, Telangana & Andhra Pradesh shall be valid for gaining entry to postgraduate medical courses / postgraduate diploma courses from 2017 admission session.
  2. Eligible candidates seeking MD/MS admission 2017 or PG Diploma admission 2017 through NEET PG 2017 can only appear for the PG entrance examination only once during the testing window (5th Dec – 13th Dec 2016).

  1. NEET PG 2017 is applicable for All India 50% Quota Seats / State Quota Seats in Govt. medical colleges owned by State Government / MD/MS/PG Diploma Seats in Private medical colleges / MD/MS/PG Diploma seats at Armed Forces Medical Services Institutions / DNB Broad specialty courses.
  2. Centralized admissions for MD/MS/PG Diploma course through National Eligibility Entrance Test PG 2017 is not covered for institutions namely, AIIMS, New Delhi, PGIMER, Chandigarh, SGPGIMS, Lucknow, JIPMER, Puducherry, NIMHANS, Bengaluru and Sree Chitra Tirunal Institute for Medical Sciences and Technology, Trivandrum.
  3. The selection and admission to Postgraduate medical seats / diploma seats in any medical institutions is subject to fulfilling the admission criteria, eligibility, medical fitness and such criteria as may be prescribed by the respective universities, medical institutions, Medical Council of India, State/Central Government.

  1. It shall be necessary for a candidate seeking MD MS admission 2017 / PG Diploma admission 2017 to obtain minimum of marks at 50th percentile in National Eligibility Entrance Test (NEET 2017) for Postgraduate courses. However, in respect of candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC categories, the minimum marks shall be at 40th In respect of candidates with locomotory disability of lower limbs, the minimum marks shall be at 45th percentile In NEET PG 2017.

  1. It must be noted that when sufficient number of candidates in the respective categories fail to secure minimum marks as prescribed in NEET held for any academic year for MD/MS/PG Diploma admission, the Central Government in consultation with MCI may at its discretion lower the minimum marks required for PG medical admission / PG diploma admission for candidates belonging to respective categories and marks so lowered by the Central Government shall be applicable for the said academic year only.

 

Facts on NEET PG 2017 Declaration of Results

 

  1. NBE shall be declaring the results for All India 50% quota seats (all states except Jammu & Kashmir, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana) / State quota seats of all states/UTs of India ( including the states of Jammu & Kashmir, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana) / MD/MS/PG Diploma Seats in all Private Medical Colleges/Institutions/Universities/Deemed Universities / MD/MS/PG Diploma Seats in AFMS Institutions / DNB CET Broad specialty courses.
  2. In case of two or more candidates seeking MD MS admission 2017 / PG diploma admission 2017 obtain equal marks in NEET PG medical 2017, their inter se merit will be determined according to age. Older will get preference over younger.
  3. The validity of the NEET PG result 2017 shall be valid only for the current admission session i.e. 2017 admission session for postgraduate medical courses / postgraduate diploma courses and cannot be carried forward for the next session of PG medical admissions.

Facts on NEET PG 2017 Counselling

  1. Counseling for All India 50% quota seats shall be conducted by Medical Counseling Committee (MCC) of Director General of Health Services, Government of India.
  2. MD/MS/PG Diploma counselling for various categories of State quota seats shall be conducted by the concerned State Medical Directorate/Counseling authority(s) of the State/UT/Private Universities/Medical College/Institutions.
  3. Counseling for admission to Private Medical Colleges, Institutions, Universities & Deemed Universities shall be conducted by the designated counseling authority of these Private Colleges/Institutions/Institutes/Universities/Deemed Universities using NEET PG 2017 scores
  4. Centralized merit based Counseling for admission to DNB Courses shall be conducted by NBE using NEET-PG scores.
  5. Counseling for admission to Armed Forces Medical Service Institutions shall be conducted by the Directorate General Armed Forces Medical Services (DGAFMS), Ministry of Defence, Government of India using NEET-PG scores
  6. Centralized merit based Counseling for admission to DNB Courses shall be conducted by NBE using NEET-PG scores.
