Tamilnadu PG Counselling 2019

The Selection Committee, Directorate of Medical Education is an authorized body to conduct Tamilnadu PG counselling 2019 for admission to PG medical courses in Government medical colleges, Government and Management/NRI quota seats in Private medical colleges. The committee conducts separate PG medical counselling for Government quota seats and Management/NRI quota seats. Applications shall be invited from all eligible candidates who qualify in NEET PG 2019.

The applications for Tamilnadu PG medical counselling shall be made available to the candidates in the month March 2019. The tentative dates of PG medical counselling are mentioned in the table below:

Eligibility Criteria for Participation in Tamilnadu PG Counselling 2019

Candidates should fulfill the below mentioned criteria in order to participate in Tamilnadu PG counselling 2019:

General Eligibility Criteria

1. Candidates should be a Citizen of India.

2. Candidate should posses MBBS degree and should have completed/completing Compulsory Rotatory Internship in the State of Tamil Nadu on or before 31 March 2019.

3. Candidate should appear in NEET PG 2019 and qualify in the PG medical entrance exam by obtaining minimum of marks at 50th percentile. However, in respect of candidates belonging to SC, SC (Arunthathiyar), ST, Backward Classes, Backward Classes (Muslim), Most Backward Classes & Denotified Community, the minimum marks shall be at 40th percentile. In respect of candidates with locomotor disability of lower limbs, the minimum marks shall be at 45th percentile.

4. Candidate should possess MBBS degree of the Tamil Nadu Dr. MGR Medical University or of any other University recognized as equivalent to the Tamil Nadu Dr.M.G.R. Medical University and recognized by MCI.

5. Candidate who has qualified from other University should possess Eligibility Certificate from the Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University.

6. Candidate should possess Permanent Medical Council Registration Certificate of the State or India at the time of Tamilnadu PG counselling.

Eligibility Criteria for Government Quota Seats

Candidate of Tamil Nadu Native who has completed MBBS in other State should produce a Tamil Nadu Nativity Certificate issued by the competent authority only and supported by a copy of Passport/Aadhar card/Voter’s ID/Driving License.

Eligibility Criteria for Management/NRI Quota Seats

The criteria for Management quota seats remain same as mentioned under General Eligibility Criteria. However, the following guidelines shall be followed for PG medical admission under NRI quota in Private medical colleges in Tamil Nadu.

1.

• Candidate should be Indian Origin settled in foreign country.

OR

• Candidate who was born in foreign country and whose parents are of Indian Origin.

OR

• Children of Indian citizens appointed abroad by Public Sector Undertaking.

OR

• Children of Indian citizen stay abroad for employment, business.

OR

• Children of the Official of the State/Central Government on deputation to abroad.

2. The PG medical seats under NRI quota should be utilized by the bonafide NRIs only and for their children or wards. Hence, NRI financially supporting the candidate should be either parent of the candidate or legally declared guardian of the candidate.

3. NRI candidate should possess NRI status of the person supporting financially issued by the Indian Embassy of the respective country under their seal.

4. NRI candidate should possess Certificate of Relationship between the NRI financial supporter and the candidate issued by the competent authority, valid Indian Passport of the NRI financial supporter.

5. NRI candidate should possess NRE (Non Resident External) Bank Account Pass Book of the financial supporter.

6. NRI candidate should possess Evidence for payment of Development charges US $ 1000/- to the college by the NRI financial supporter (One-time payment at the time of admission only).

Tamilnadu PG Counselling 2019

Tamilnadu PG Counselling 2019 Application Procedure

1. Separate application forms shall be made available to the candidates for Government quota and Management quota on the official website (www.tnhealth.org / www.tnmedicalselection.org).

2. Eligible candidate should download the required application form for participation in Tamilnadu PG medical counselling (Govt. quota and/or Management quota) from the official website on the specified date.

Candidate seeking PG medical admission under Government quota and/or Management Quota should submit the filled in application with necessary enclosures and a DD drawn in favor of “The Secretary, Selection Committee, Kilpauk, Chennai-10” payable at Chennai towards the application cost as given below on or before the last date specified for application submission. SC/SC (Arunthathiyar) and ST candidates who are natives of Tamil Nadu are exempted from payment of the cost of the Application.

• Government Quota application: Rs. 3000

• Management quota application: Rs. 5000

3. Tamilnadu PG medical counselling application should be sent to the below mentioned address:

4. Candidate should send the application form with all enclosures in an A4 size cloth lined cover. The template with required details available for download should be printed and pasted on the cover. Applications without the signature of the candidates shall not be considered.

5. The Selection Committee assigns AR Number to the candidate.

Documents to be enclosed with Application Form

The following documents should be sent to the above address along with application form and DD:

1. NEET PG 2019 Score Card

2. MBBS Degree certificate or provisional pass certificate from the University concerned.

3. Permanent Medical Registration certificate issued by the Medical Council of India/State Medical Council

4. Community Certificate, if applicable, from the competent authority indicating the community status of candidates belonging to Backward Community/Backward Community (Muslim)/Most Backward Community/Denotified Communities/Schedule Caste/Schedule Caste (Arunthathiyar)

5. ST candidates should produce community certificates issued by a Revenue Divisional Officer

6. TNPSC/MRB (through competitive written examination) Selection & Posting Order(For Service Candidates)

7. Nativity certificate (if applicable) with supportive documents

8. All documents to verify NRI status, if applicable

Classification of PG Medical Seats

Seats in Government Medical Colleges & Rajah Muthaiah Medical College, Annamalai University: Out of the total PG medical seats, Fifty Percent of the PG medical seats are contributed to All India Quota for allotment by the Director General of Health Services, New Delhi. The remaining Fifty Percent of the PG medical seats will be allotted under State Quota during the counselling.

Seats in Self Financing Colleges: Out of the total PG medical seats, Fifty Percent of the PG medical seats are reserved as Government quota seats. The remaining Fifty Percent of the PG medical seats are reserved as Management quota of which Fifteen Percent seats are reserved for NRI candidates.

Seats for Orthopedically Physically Disabled Candidates

Five Percent of the total number of PG medical seats available in Government Medical Institutions is reserved for the Orthopedically Physically disabled candidates (only for loco motor disabilities of lowerlimbs).

Merit List

The merit list of the candidates applied for Tamilnadu PG counselling 2019 shall be generated based on marks obtained in NEET PG 2019 and the additional weightage marks shall be awarded to eligible in-service candidates qualified in NEET PG 2019 and have worked in remote/difficult areas. The Secretary, Selection Committee will publish the Merit List on the websites (www.tnhealth.org. / www.tnmedicalselection.org)

Counselling Procedure

PG medical admission shall be made by offline/physical counselling based on merit. The seat matrix shall be published in the prospectus.

In case if a candidate is unable to attend the Tamilnadu PG counselling 2019 on the specified date and time, he/she can authorize a representative to attend the counselling on his/her behalf. The authorized representative should produce an undertaking and authority letter for seat allotment along with the required original documents. The PG medical seat allotted to the authorized representative shall be binging on the candidate.

First Phase of Counselling

• Candidates should attend the first phase of Tamilnadu PG counselling in person as per their rank and mark mentioned in the schedule.

• Candidates should produce all the above-mentioned documents in original to participate in the counselling.

• Candidates who are holding PG medical seat during two rounds of counselling for AIQ/Deemed Universities shall not be eligible to participate in this counselling.

• Candidates can choose any PG medical course/specialization at any medical colleges available at the time of counselling. Option once given during the counseling cannot be changed during same phase of counseling.

• All candidates attending the first phase of Tamilnadu PG counselling have to pay a non-refundable fee of Rs. 1000 by means of DD in favor of “The Secretary, Selection Committee, Kilpauk, Chennai – 10” payable at Chennai as processing fee.

• Candidates who will be allotted PG medical seat in this phase of Tamilnadu PG counselling should pay the first year tuition fee in total (Rs. 2,00,000 as registration fee in case of Management quota seats) by way of DD drawn in favor of “The Secretary, Selection Committee, Kilpauk, Chennai – 10” payable at Chennai at the time of receipt of the allotment order towards tuition fee. After receipt of the joining report from the dean of the allotted college, this amount shall be transferred to the college concerned.

• Candidates who take seat under Special Category under Government quota shall not be allowed to attend the General Counselling.

Second/Final Phase of Counselling

• Candidates should attend the first phase of Tamilnadu PG counselling 2019 in person as per their rank and mark mentioned in the schedule.

• Candidates who have been allotted seat/joined the PG medical course allotted during the first phase of Govt. quota shall be eligible for re-allotment in this phase. However in case of management quota counselling, candidates who have been allotted seat/joined the PG medical course allotted during the first phase of Govt. quota counselling shall not be eligible to attend this phase of counselling.

• Candidates who have joined the PG medical course allotted during the first phase of Tamilnadu PG counselling 2019 of management quota shall be eligible for re-allotment in this phase.

• Candidates who have not joined the PG medical course allotted during the first phase of Govt. quota/management counselling or discontinued the course after joining or have been absent during the first phase of counselling shall not be eligible to attend the counselling.

• Candidates who are attending this phase of counselling for re-allotment need not pay processing fees.

• Candidates who want to retain the PG medical seat already allotted during the first phase of Govt. quota/management quota counselling need not attend this phase of counselling.

• Candidates should produce all the above-mentioned documents in original to participate in the counselling.

• Candidates who are holding PG medical seat during two rounds of counselling for AIQ/Deemed Universities shall not be eligible to participate in this counselling.

• Candidates can choose any PG medical course/specialization at any medical colleges available at the time of counselling. Option once given during the counseling cannot be changed during same phase of counseling.

• Candidates who will be allotted PG medical seat in this phase of Tamilnadu PG counselling 2019 should pay the first year tuition fee in total (Rs. 2,00,000 as registration fee) by way of DD drawn in favor of “The Secretary, Selection Committee, Kilpauk, Chennai – 10” payable at Chennai at the time of receipt of the allotment order. • All candidates, except for those attending for re-allotment, attending this phase of Tamilnadu PG counselling 2019 have to remit a non-refundable amount of Backward Community Rs. 1000 by means of DD in favor of “The Secretary, Selection Committee, Kilpauk, Chennai – 10” payable at Chennai as processing fee.

• Candidates who take seat under Special Category shall not be allowed to attend the General Counselling.

Since this is the final phase of counselling, candidates who are allotted seat should join the allotted medical college within the stipulated time.
