The following candidates will be eligible to participate in the second round of MCC PG Counselling:

  • Registered candidates who participated in the first round but did not get any seat allotted in the first round
  • Registered candidate who took Free Exit from the Seat allotted in the first round
  • Registered candidates who reported at the medical college allotted in the first round and gave willingness for Upgradation for second round
  • Registered candidates who have secured PG medical seat under reserved quota but their seat got cancelled at the time of document verification while reporting, are eligible to participate in the second round due to change of category from reserved to unreserved or PwD status from Yes to No, subject to fulfillment of eligibility conditions 
  • Newly registered candidates

The process of mop up round of online PG medical seat allotment through MCC is as follows:

  1. New Registration which will include payment of Non-Refundable Counseling Registration fee and Refundable Security Amount (For those candidates who are registering for the first time/who registered in Round 1 & exited/who registered in Round 2 & exited with Forfeiture of Security Amount). However, candidates who have already joined and taken PG medical admission in medical college allotted against Round 2 of AIQ/Deemed/Central universities will not be eligible. Candidates who are registered but not been allotted any PG medical seat in Round 1 and Round 2 need not register again
  2. Exercising of Fresh Choices and Locking of Choices as per the Schedule
  3. Process of Mop up Round PG Seat Allotment
  4. Publication of Mop up Round Result
  5. Reporting at the allotted medical college against Mop up Round within stipulated time

Yes, all participating medical colleges are instructed to retain original certificates of the admitted candidates and release them only in case of upgradation of the PG medical seat or resignation by the candidates.

Candidates who are willing to participate in AFMS Screening should register under AFMS at the time of MCC registration and fill their eligibility as per the five categories given by the authorities of AFMS. The counselling will be conducted offline by the authorities of AFMS. Candidates must visit official websites of AFMS for more updates.

Yes, candidates who are allotted PG medical seats in any of the rounds of MCC counselling will be required to join the allotted medical college within stipulated time from the allotment date as given in the counselling schedule. However, candidates are advised to complete PG medical admission formalities at the allotted medical college as early as possible and not wait for the last day.

The following original documents will be required at the time of joining/reporting at the allotted medical college:

  • NEET PG Admit Card issued by NBE
  • NEET PG Score/Rank Card issued by NBE
  • MBBS Marks Sheets of 1st, 2nd and 3rd professional examinations
  • MBBS Degree Certificate/Provisional Certificate
  • Internship Completion Certificate/Certificate from the head of the institution showing that the candidate will complete internship by 31 March of the year of PG medical admission
  • MCI / SMC Provisional or Permanent Registration certificate
  • High School/Higher Secondary Certificate/Birth Certificate as Date of Birth proof
  • ID Proof (PAN Card, Driving License, Voter ID, Aadhar Card or Passport)
  • SC/ST Certificate issued by competent authority (if applicable)
  • OBC Certificate issued by competent authority (if applicable)
  • Disability Certificate issued by duly constituted and authorized Medical Board for 21 Benchmark Disabilities as per RPWD Act, 2016. (if applicable)

Any certificate issued by the competent authority should be in English or Hindi language. However, some States ask for certificate only in English language. Therefore, candidates are advised to carry certified copy of English Version of the original certificate, in case certificate is issued in regional language.

After completion of mop up round of counselling for PG medical seats of Deemed universities and Central Universities, the vacant PG medical seats will be transferred to respective universities for conduct of college level counselling. MCC will send a list of ten times the number of vacancies to the deemed/central universities, which would be filled strictly based on rank at college level. Candidates are advised to contact respective universities for participation in stray vacancy round.

The Centralized Admission Committee (CENTAC) is the authorized body to conduct PG medical counselling for Government quota as well as management quota seats in medical colleges in Pondicherry.

  • Category 1: Seats in Government medical colleges in Pondicherry
  • Category 2: Government quota seats in Private medical colleges in Pondicherry
  • Category 3: Management quota seats in Private medical colleges in Pondicherry including minority seats

  • Candidates should have valid NEET PG score
  • Candidates should possess MBBS degree or Provisional MBBS Pass Certificate

  • Candidates should have completed or likely to complete one year internship on or before 31 March of the year of PG medical admission
