Tamil Nadu Government has informed the Madras High Court that a petition has been filed in the Supreme Court to extend time for conducting the mop-up round counselling for medical admissions this year in order to fill up the government medical seats in private medical colleges in Tamil Nadu. The petition filed for TN MBBS Mop-up round has been much longer affair.
The Special Government Pleader appeared before Justice B. Pugalendhi while the hearing of a case and informed that the government has already approached the Supreme Court and is waiting for the necessary orders to be taken for the filed petition.
A case was filed earlier by a 19 year old MBBS aspirant saying that she had secured 403 out of 720 marks in National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET) and was placed at 846th rank under the Scheduled Caste Category. She filed the petition because she couldn’t get a seat in either of the Phase I and Phase II Counselling on the earlier dates.
The petition was filed for TN MBBS Mop-up round counselling in the court much earlier seeking time extension for conducting the mop-up round counseling but no actions was taken and the matter was still pending.
